libparse-cpan-meta-perl software package provides module to parse META.yml and other similar CPAN metadata files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libparse-cpan-meta-perl
libparse-cpan-meta-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libparse-cpan-meta-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libparse-cpan-meta-perl *
You will get with libparse-cpan-meta-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
